Well I've decided to take my mom to Vegas in October. Now she's never been and super excited. I've been researching hotels and am seeing some incredible rates out there. I can't decide whether to stay downtown at my favorite..the Golden Nugget, or stay on the strip. Mom uses a cane and is very slow getting around. So we will have to take a taxi no matter where we go. I know she would enjoy the light show downtown..oh decisions, decisions.

She can't do a lot of walking...what else do you guys recommend to do?

Jan, I think I would stay on the strip with your mom as there is more to see and do there. And just taxi it to the Fremont street for her to see the light show.

you could taxi over to the Rio and she could sit and enjoy the free show there. mini walking thru the hotel but she can gradually stroll there.

im not really sure what to suggest but im sure she will enjoy herself out there. seeing the lights at night from the hotel. maybe a good show depending on what she likes musicals comedy, comedians.

i know im not much help considering how many times ive been there. lol

is this her first time.

Good idea...She likes musicals so maybe I could fine one. I thought about taking a trip to the Grand Canyon..Would have to do the bus thing because I'd be unsure with driving..unfamiliar area. I checked out the Orleans hotel...great rates..and they have a shuttle to the strip. The Orleans is about a half mile west of the strip.

The Orleans is nice. But, I think that I agree with JR. Your mom would probably see more if you stayed in the middle of the "Strip".
