Hi Diddyvillians!! Welcome!! I have been hanging out over here alot lately. This site always works(even with my slow dialup) , and they have only a couple of rules. Lots of my friends from the other site got banned, and this is where they came, and I followed. glad to see ya!!

Only two rules. No name calling or rude flaming. No dirty words in title or large print. Other than that, you can talk about travel agents, cruiselines, etc, and no one will ban you or dump your post. Less to worry about. I like it here. I hope the boards grow.

Switched to October and the Eastern itinerary. I am a little nervous about sailing in October, but it works with our schedules, and I am sailing with a fun bunch of folks.

Welcome back Adam...Missed you. Congrats on holding the grandbaby. :D

We are a group that mostly met on the CC boards, some have cruised together before, others are friends, and friends of theirs, and some like me just wandered onto the board to check out the Freedom of the Seas. They were well into the planning (if thats what its called :D )

Many of us want to sail together, and originally there were several different possibilities. (Inaugural, May, or November) but most of the folks decided against the inaugural) One of the most active posters is "J Diddy", and pretty soon we all became diddys, and then spun out of control from there. (On the other board we are calling this thread Diddville)

Our fearless leader is really Tye, but there are many active posters out there...Kruz started the thread, termadiddy is one of the most active and I hope more come this direction! Until we hear the scoop on Monday, I don't think any of us are sure what we are doing. But we have become a tight group, and I sure hope we get together for a cruise of some kind. It is a wonderful group of people, fun and welcoming, and alot like this board. I know I am glad to be here, this is my new cruise board home. Thanks for the welcome.

go check this out. Scott adn I did this one year...we drank breakfast in the marina waiting for the water taxi..hiked around the island...have a really funny story to go with it all but this is probably the best excurtion we had ever done...and we did it on our own!!!

Overclocked... Empty nesters here so the DW has one desktop, I have the other and the laptop is for vacations and such... We take it to do pics and for the music...:) . Internet service on the ships is just too expensive IMHO...:eek:

That's funny. I used the excuse (to buy it) that we could use it on the ship and save a lot of money while keeping the folks at home bored as hell with out ship adventures.

Adam...we did this as a day trip while cruising! It cost I think about $12.00..total for the water taxi fares!!
As it turned out we never did use the return fare.....here's what happened....
We got oever there, hiked, then went down to a very private beach..had a picnic lunch and a couple beers..I did some snorkeling.
All os a sudden out of nowhere a car comes barreling down the road to the beach...a woman gets out.....takes a toe-ring display out of her trunk...?????
So I went over and said..you know, we are the only 3 on the beach...you gonna sell us some toe rings!!!??? Well..she said in about a half hours time a Kon Tiki party barge was gonna descned upon us with about 200 rum drunks!!! Red Tounges!!!! LOL!!! Anyway, she got us on that party barge for the trip back to the ship! (actually we missed the last return ferry so than goodness it worked out like it did!!!) By far the most fun trip ever!!!
Drinking Bushwackers with the locals for breakfast shoulda told me it was gonna be a fun day!

I think that Royal wants the ship to be the destination..which is fine by me but if the price isn't right by the time we want to book I am all over wanting to look into a better itinerary.
(getting sick of the western myself!)

So..what we need to do here is play the waiting game. I think someplace around December of 2005 we should actually start our booking process..if RCCL is stillfull of themselves by then we move to Princess or Carnival..for sure !!!!

Cruising is on the front page of our paper today, being a crusie destination, trends are watched closely here. They say prices are up 11% since 2002. But that they had dropped because of 911, and that there are more of us than ever this year, most ships are sailing pretty full.

I would like to know if that is what Joe sees or are they just blowing wind?

What happened today is a classic example of why this board has become so popular. It's the inconsistency of the mod. over there. Some posts remain for eternity while others go poof.

I think they were looking for an excuse to pull that thread anyway. Too many people had something to say about the lenght of it. More jealousy than anything. And they have the Great Race 2005 which is a posting contest, and I think they don't want the competition.
